We did it !!! Timberland and Munster Rugby complete the Kerry Way Challenge

Timberland, Munster Rugby and Cari Volunteers

On Sunday the 26th August runners and walkers from Timberland, Munster Rugby and Cari took part in what can only be described as an the most spectacluar  but gruelling mountainous 13.1 mile trek along The Kerry Way

Setting out from the square in Kenmare the group encountered a long steep road which lead to the tricky Kerry Way Trail.

The trail threw all the elements at the participants, testing everyone’s endurance levels, miniature canyons with rocky outcrops provided slippery conditions with open marshy areas that squelched and sucked your feet under.

The meandering trails took us through the Torc and Mangerton Mountains providing the group with the most breathtaking scenery before the trail steeply descends to a stone staircase to a viewing platform at the base of Torc Waterfall. We again we are reminded of the GREAT outdoors

The last stage we passed through a tunnel beneath the ‘Ring of Kerry’,which brought our weary legs through Muckross Estate and to our finishing line.
